Our pre-packaged and highly customizable solutions can be deployed in a matter of hours. And solutions for any ODBC data source can be developed in a few days.

This type of analysis helps businesses streamline operations, increase customer satisfaction, and enhance their competitive position. DataHabitat includes Sales, Cost, and Profitability Analysis by Customer, Item, Product Line, Salesperson, and dozens of predefined queries and reports to get you started immediately.
DataHabitat creates open Microsoft SQL Server and Microsoft FoxPro data warehouses without the need for programming or writing scripts. Your data cubes can easily and quickly be modified to meet changing business conditions.  Need adaptive OLAP today? Check out DataHabitat!

Tech and Sales Tips - Year 1 Issue 4

Data Integration is a main benefit of a data warehouse.

Without an ETL tool (Extraction, Transformation, Loading) and a data warehouse, integrating data from different sources is usually time consuming and costly. The user must go through an error-prone process of manually exporting pieces of data to a spreadsheet or an Access file, for example, and then proceed to format the report. One of the key benefits of data warehousing is the ability to automate the data collection process and integrate diverse pieces of information into a single database, making reporting from heterogeneous data sources a straight-forward task. One can certainly say that the quickest data warehousing ROI is achieved when data integration needs exist.

Tech and Sales Tips - Year 1 Issue 3

Forecasting is a critical, and often difficult, task for most companies. Whether for sales, inventory planning, purchasing, labor, etc., intelligent business planning requires accurate forecasting.

Some companies create forecasting data with spreadsheets, others analyze historic data to project future results, and so forth. But what is common among them is the large amount of time and resources spent to manually compile and compare the "forecast" and "actual" data. Until now, there was no good technological solution in the mid-market to address such issues.

With its data warehouse technology, DataHabitat now provides a real solution for business forecasting. For instance, you can create an Excel spreadsheet with sales forecasting information, and integrate it with historical and current sales data from your accounting system using DataHabitat. This lets you create and update sales forecasting data anyway you want, using DataHabitat to keep track of the results!

Please view a quick demonstration of this feature. You will be able to understand why integrating and analyzing data from different sources is just one of the features where DataHabitat truly excels!

Tech and Sales Tips - Year 1 Issue 2

A data warehouse is a copy of operational data which has been optimized for faster and easier access and is able to import and integrate data from different source systems. There are two major differences between data warehouse generated reports and transactional database reports: data warehouse generated reports are easier to create and faster to run.  Simple as that! So many commonly required reports, which are very difficult and expensive to create directly from transactional databases, are easily solved with DataHabitat!

DataHabitat stands alone in the mid-market because it is a data warehouse-based query and reporting tool sold for under $3,000, a small fraction of the cost of any similar package.

DataHabitat products are end-to-end data warehousing business intelligence solutions that include data warehouse design and maintenance tool, mappings for 13 Accounting and Finance systems, Windows and Web query, graphing and reporting tools.

Having problems with reporting? Take a look at state-of-the-art technology now available at a price even small companies can afford!

From today on, you'll be receiving our periodic Feature Review. Our objective is to give you short pieces of knowledge that will allow you to become acquainted with DataHabitat.

The DataHabitat product line is comprised of two main components: the engine and the data models (encyclopedias). The data models are source specific, whereas the engine is unique. Data Models are currently available for 13 popular mid-market financial systems including Microsoft Great Plains, ACCPAC and Best Software. Any ODBC data source, relational or not, can be loaded into the data mart. By default the data mart is deployed in a Microsoft Visual FoxPro database (which comes embedded in the product), but can also be deployed in any ODBC-compatible data platform including Oracle, DB2 and SQL Server. It is a simple matter of changing a table property to deploy the data in a different data store.
